
Photographer Kawauchi Rinko's photo exhibition "The Rain of Blessing" will be held at Gallery 916 in Tokyo's Minato Ward from May 20 to September 25. The exhibition features works including "The River Accepted Me," which was shown at the Contemporary Art Museum Kumamoto in 2016, "Search for the Sun," a work previously unseen in Japan and shot for her solo exhibition at Vienna's Kunsthaus Wien last year, as well as her latest unreleased works, alongside her earlier works. This is a rare opportunity to view over 100 photographs tracing Kawauchi's career. In addition, new video works will be screened in the adjacent Gallery 916 small space. Kawauchi Rinko is a photographer who won the 27th Kimura Ihei Photography Award in 2002 for her works "Utatane" and "Hanabi." : In 2009, she won the 25th Infinity Award in the Arts category, sponsored by the ICP (International Center of Photography), and in 2013, she received the 63rd Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists and the 29th Higashikawa Photography Award for Domestic Artists. She has held solo exhibitions all over the world, including in Paris, Gothenburg, Sweden, Sao Paulo, and Vienna.
