[3 Days in New York] DAY 1: From juice stands perfect for post-run stops to high-end select shops

May 19, 2016

New York is a city where something new is always happening. We've picked out some great destinations in Manhattan and Brooklyn to explore while checking out Instagram.

◇DAY1

6:00 AM @ Central Park

I arrived in Manhattan the evening before, and the best way to recover from jet lag was to go for a run in Central Park. Running around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir while watching the dawn unfold over New York is incredibly cool. Just watching the sunrise makes you feel like Taylor Swift's "Welcome to New York" is playing in the background. Actually, when I run, the tempo is more like Shake It Off, lol.

With the Dakota on my right, I'm reminded that I've arrived in New York.

After my run, I start my New York morning with a cold-pressed juice at the nearby Juice Generation (@juicegeneration)...

One of the best places in Manhattan these days is, of course, the Meatpacking District. The Whitney Museum of American Art (@whitneymuseum) has also relocated, bringing new vitality to the area. It's great to walk along the High Line or immerse yourself in art at the Whitney. Jeffrey NEW YORK (@jeffreyatlantanewyork) is a long-established select shop that I always check out. I still remember the shock I felt when I first saw it mixed and matched with luxury brands from Paris.

12:30 PM @ MEATPACKING DIST. & CHELSEA

For dining in this area, we recommend the food courts that are currently trending in New York. Among them, GANSAVOORT MARKET (@GansMarket) in this area has a great atmosphere and makes you feel like you're in New York! You can also walk a little north to Chelsea Market (@ChelseaMarketNY) and eat lobster and oysters at The Lobster Place, and the clam chowder there is absolutely delicious.

Following this trend, I checked out new concept shops STORY (@thisisstory), which are edited around magazine-style themes, and STEVEN ALAN HOME (@Steven_Alan), to get a fresh feel for the current atmosphere.
I also like INTELLIGENTSIACOFFEE in the nearby HIGHLINE HOTEL, second only to the shop in Venice Beach, LA. The pop-up feel of the food truck is great.

If you can make it to Tribecca, you should definitely check out La Garconne (@LaGarconne) and local hangout spot Arcade Bakery (@arcadebakery).

6:00 PM @ CHELSEA

For an early dinner, head to Morimoto, adjacent to Chelsea Market, for some cool Japanese food. The sight of locals eating Japanese food with chopsticks is a true example of COOL JAPAN. It's shocking to see that you can eat yuba in New York.
