From May 25th to June 7th, Isetan Shinjuku will open a collaboration between Paris-based art photo specialty store YELLOWKORNER and BEAMS RECORDS, the music division of BEAMS, in the Personal Room/Promotion section on the 5th floor of the main building. The "NY BEAT-SCENE OF MUSIC & ART PHOTO" shop will be open for a limited time as part of the store's "New York Week" fair, which runs from May 25th to 31st. The New York-themed shop will feature art photos and records related to the city, its people, and its music, as well as audio products that bring out the best in music, proposing a "rich life with photography and music." BEAMS RECORDS will also be releasing a selection of records, both old and new, centered around the long-established New York jazz label "BLUE NOTE," as well as exclusive BEAMS RECORDS models from Thorens, a luxury Swiss turntable manufacturer.
Also on display and for sale will be the portable record player by CROSLEY in collaboration with Disney, which became a hot topic as soon as it was released on Record Store Day on April 16th this year (an annual festival where people go to record stores and share the excitement of buying vinyl records and the joy of music), and the long-selling TooToo (22) hybrid tube amplifier.
In the art photography section, Yellow Corner will be exhibiting art shots of the streets of Manhattan within the venue, and will be selling works such as "Traffic" (Nina Papiorek), "Coucher de soleil sur Manhattan" (Guillaume Gaudet), and "Urban Density" (Jorg Dickmann) (approximately 40 x 50 cm, made in Poland).
