Rui Hachimura is a professional basketball player who achieved the remarkable feat of being the first Japanese player to be selected in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He is expected to perform even better as a key player on his team this season. Casio has been supporting Rui Hachimura as he continues to take on tough challenges since signing a global partnership agreement with the company in November 2019. The new GM-110RH is a signature model designed under the supervision of Rui Hachimura, a G-SHOCK aficionado since his student days. The base model is the stylish GM-110, featuring a metal bezel. The watch's dial and band retainer feature the yellow, red, and green colors of the flag of the Republic of Benin, Hachimura's homeland. The yellow hour hand, red minute hand, and green inset dial are balanced with the Y-shaped dial on the face for optimal legibility. In addition to the standard black urethane band, the watch also includes a urethane band featuring the kente pattern, a traditional West African ethnic garment, allowing for easy swapping. Furthermore, the watch's original "Black Samurai logo," inspired by Hachimura's name and the "8" (eight) on his jersey number, is engraved on the case back, band retainer, and special packaging. Rui Hachimura commented on this new model, "This watch is inspired by my roots in Benin and Africa, which are very important to me. The pattern on the band and the color scheme on the face reflect Beninese culture, and I am very happy that the design I had been hoping for has been completed."
