The Paris-based charity event "HOPE AND LOVE DAY TOKYO 2015" will be held on August 8th at Marunouchi House on the 7th floor of the Shin-Maru Building.
The project, which began in the wake of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, was launched by Japanese women working in the fashion industry, including fashion coordinators and stylists living in Paris. The charity events are primarily held in Paris and Tokyo, and the donations raised have been used for various disaster relief efforts, including soup kitchens and the construction of temporary wooden housing in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, a project to donate boats to fishermen lost in a typhoon in the Philippines, and the reconstruction of schools and construction of tent houses in Nepal.
The event will feature a one-day treasure flea market featuring clothing and accessories selected by Japan's leading brands, select shops, and stylists. All proceeds will be donated to Nepal, in addition to the ongoing support provided to children in the disaster-stricken Tohoku region.
Also on the day, there will be talk events with Paris-based artists Kawahara Shinsuke x YOU and Amemiya Toko x KEITA MARUYAMA, a makeup seminar by a famous makeup artist, and nail care and scalp massages by staff from the total beauty salon "uka." There will also be a photo studio where you can have your family portraits taken by a renowned photographer, a spectacular Kendama performance by NOB, a central figure in Japan's street Kendama scene, and the Kendama Tohoku Project, DJ performances by internationally active DJ/producer Tanaka Tomoyuki (FPM) and SOFT&HARD (MUG / G.V.G.V & Rumiko BUCCI / Bijou R.I), and workshops for parents and children. There will also be a kids' photo studio where kids can become a "mini Kyary-chan" dressed in outfits by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's stylist Iijima Kumiko, offering yukata, jinbei, and other costumes.
