EXPOCITY, one of Japan's largest complexes, will open on November 19th at Expo Commemoration Park in Suita City, Osaka (2-1 Senri Expo Park, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture).
Expo City will open on the site of EXPO'70, Asia's first World Expo, held in 1970. The complex will combine entertainment and shopping, covering an area of approximately 172,000 square meters and featuring eight large-scale entertainment facilities and the Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport EXPOCITY, with a total of 305 stores.
LaLaport EXPOCITY will feature entertainment restaurants and interactive shops, and as an all-purpose facility, it will feature popular fashion and cosmetics brands, select shops, sports and outdoor goods, kids' wear, and general merchandise. The mall will feature 47 stores, including Ron Herman's concept store "RHC" and Polo Ralph Lauren, opening in the Kansai region for the first time, as well as popular brands such as Michael Kors, Armani Exchange, Gelato Pique, and Kate Spade New York, as well as popular select shops such as URBAN RESEARCH, BEAMS, and BEAUTY&YOUTH UNITED ARROWS. Looking at the cosmetics shops, a lineup of high-end stores including MAC and Neal's Yard Remedies is also expected. Meanwhile, "Play, Learn, Discover" - All in One Fun! The entertainment facilities, themed around "Pokémon," include Japan's first experiential English language education facility, "OSAKA ENGLISH VILLAGE," the experiential edutainment facility "Pokémon EXPO GYM," the experiential amusement park "ENTERTAINMENT FIELD" based on "Shaun the Sheep," "NIFREL," the first museum produced by Kaiyukan, "ANIPO," a traveling animal amusement park, and the state-of-the-art cinema complex "109 Cinemas Osaka Expo City." In addition to these, a total of eight facilities will be built, including "Orbi Osaka," a nature-based entertainment facility scheduled to open in early 2016, and "OSAKA WHEEL," Japan's largest Ferris wheel scheduled to open in spring 2016.
