Adidas x Pharrell: A major project linking together superstar creators from around the world!

adidas Originals, in collaboration with musician Pharrell Williams, has announced the launch of the global campaign "#OriginalSuperstar - Pay It Forward" worldwide on August 7th.

For the campaign, five "Superstars" have been selected by Pharrell Williams, all of whom he recognizes as true creators: Pusha T, Grigoriy Dobrygin, Smithe, VJ Mian, and YOON. Pharrell Williams has asked these creators to "express their vision of a true superstar to the world," and the creators will then use social media to share their vision of a "true superstar."


After that, the five will nominate the next superstar they approve, and the next superstar will be selected... and the cycle will spread, creating a chain reaction of creativity around the world. In Japan, a project titled "SUPERSTAR PLAYGROUND" has been launched.

To commemorate the launch of the campaign, Pharrell Williams visited Japan and, together with Yoon, held a party called "CELEBRATION PARTY TOKYO by Pharrell Williams & YOON." A 48-hour-only campaign will be held, with participants able to participate in this special party from midnight on August 7th to 11:59 PM on the following day, August 8th. Pharrell Williams and YOON will provide a one-night-only "play space" themed around superstars for 50 couples (100 people). YOON will also nominate creative superstars he admires using the hashtag "#OriginalSuperstar," sparking a chain reaction of creativity within Japan. Starting the following day, August 18th, "STREET SHELL TOKYO" will be held, showcasing creativity on the streets of Tokyo. Large shells featuring artwork by creators from Japan and abroad will be exhibited throughout the city. Additionally, starting August 21st, the adidas Originals Flagship Store Tokyo will host a workshop where participants can express their creativity with their own hands. The resulting artwork will be displayed as storefront decorations.

In addition, a gift campaign will be held from August 7th, the release date of "Supershell," a shoe with an original graphic on the shell toe of the iconic "Superstar" shoe. Customers who purchase "Supershell" at participating stores will receive a special sticker, and customers who purchase two or more items, including branded products, totaling more than 16,000 yen will receive a special folding fan.
