The sixth collaboration between MARNI and PORTER features a dark green check pattern that also attracted attention on the runway!

MARNI has announced the sixth installment of its collaborative luggage series with MARNI x PORTER. This collaboration series is beloved by fashionistas thanks to its cute patterns that fashion lovers will want to pick up and its uniquely practical design. The sixth installment will be released in late August. The pattern this time is based on the check pattern from Marni's 2015-16 Fall/Winter men's collection, unveiled at Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence, Italy, in January 2015. This bag collection features completely original designs, created from scratch. Each design is carefully crafted through repeated sample revisions, with functionality and ease of use in mind. The material is a lightweight and soft nylon bonded fabric. Printing patterns onto nylon is challenging because the heat generated during printing can cause distortion in the fabric, and the process is carried out in Japan, a country with advanced printing technology. The leather logo plate on the front of the bag is made from Italian calf leather imported from Marni in Italy. It is processed and sewn on at the Yoshida & Co. factory in Japan. Furthermore, the gold metal fittings at the base of the zipper pull are sent from Japan to the Marni factory in Italy, where the leather parts are sewn on before being sent back to Japan and attached to the bag at the Yoshida & Co. factory. These exquisite collaboration items are the result of an incredibly complex process. There are 10 styles in total, including two-way bags that can be carried as a handbag or backpack, pouches that can also be used as bag-in-bags, and wallets with classic designs. The collection will begin pre-sale at the Kyoto BAL store on August 21st, followed by sales at existing Marni stores and department stores. Additionally, a pop-up shop will be open at the United Arrows Roppongi Men's Store from August 28th to September 10th.
