Oriza Louis Legrand will begin selling its new fragrance, "Violet de Tsar Eau de Parfum" (100ml, 14,000 yen), on October 1st.
Oriza Louis Legrand, a perfumery maison with a royal warrant dating back to the time of Louis XV, was founded by the Fargeon family, who were favored perfumers by Marie Antoinette. It has won many awards at the Paris World's Fair, including a bronze medal in 1867, a gold medal in 1889, and the Grand Prix in 1900.
Oriza Louis Legrand was revived in 2012 by two Parisians. Previously, the brand has released fragrances such as "Oelle Louis XV Eau de Parfum," a revival of the fragrance originally released in 1909 as a tribute to Louis XV; "Déja Le Printemps Eau de Parfum," a revival of the 1920 fragrance that embodies the arrival of spring; and "Chypre Mousse Eau de Parfum," a revival of the 1914 fragrance dedicated to the dandy. The new fragrance, "Violette de Tsar," is a revival of the fragrance originally released in 1862 and beloved by the wealthy and European royal courts. Featuring a striking marriage of refined Nice violet with striking accents of Russian leather, balsam, and amber, it is the perfect fragrance for elegant gentlemen and ladies.
