Red is a special color. That's what many people think. Imagine that. Even on days when you're wearing natural makeup, it's even more so if you have lipstick that can completely change your look with just a quick swipe over your lips. The stick-like appearance is also an item that makes you conscious of your femininity. This is because it adds elegance to the act of "applying" lipstick. One example that makes you think this way is the artist Nomiya Maki. She has recently produced a lipstick, which was created in collaboration with the organic cosmetics brand MiMC. What exactly is this lipstick, named "Supple Rouge"? We asked Nomiya Maki about the inspiration behind its creation. "I've heard it's said that a woman uses as many as seven bottles of lipstick in her lifetime. If that's true, then I'm sure I wear even more, since lipstick is an essential part of my job. That's why I wanted something that would address my concerns with skincare effects and leave my lips looking beautiful every time I apply it," says Maki Nomiya, and thus the collaboration between her and MiMC was born. The lipstick's name, "Supple Rouge," is a portmanteau of "supplement" and the French word for red or lipstick, "rouge." "Because it's something you use every day, I wanted something that would give you beautiful lips every time you apply it," she says. "Skin tends to dull with age. That's why I want people to wear a red color like Supple Rouge (two types available: PARIS RED and TOKYO RED, ¥3,500 each, limited edition) on their lips. A single red lipstick not only makes your skin look beautiful, but it also adds a touch of sophistication." Nomiya, who serves original cocktails called "Phyto Cocktails" at her own live shows, is widely known for her deep knowledge of phytotherapy (plant therapy) and is also active in proposing solutions aimed at improving mood and feminine power. Now, she has produced her first lipstick. It is richly formulated with carefully selected organic plant beauty ingredients, including the much-talked-about "Pueraria Mirifica," yet still has what Nomiya considers to be a "fashionable" lipstick. "Organic does not equal natural; I wanted to create something that takes it one step further, into fashion, and that is what I aimed for. Red lipstick is the pride of being a woman. I hope it will make your life even more brilliant."
