■ "Hello Shibuya Tokyo" was held in Singapore, bringing together 18 Japanese brands, including G.V.G.V., Mint Designs, and Theater Products.
An event featuring Tokyo brands was also held in Singapore last year. It's hoped that designer brands will continue to expand their sales channels overseas and revitalize the Japanese economy.
■Mitsui & Co. acquires Paul Stuart, making a full-scale entry into the global brand business.
Last year, news of the acquisition by Itochu also came out.
■Wakatsuki Chinatsu, making her first appearance at Tokyo Collection, has stepped down as exclusive designer for "wc" to become a creative advisor.
This is big news right from the start of her new job. It's unclear whether she'll be participating in Tokyo Collection in March.
■ "N/E/W/S," a project to promote Tokyo's "NEW STANDARD" from Japan to overseas, has begun.
The event is not only an exhibition, but also incorporates a variety of media, including internet radio, Zozotown, and Isetan. It could become the "NEW STANDARD" for new exhibitions!?
