From October 10th to 31st, Palace Hotel Tokyo will be offering a limited-time collaboration menu with artist Noritaka Tatehana, who continues to innovatively promote traditional Japanese beauty to the world.
Palace Hotel Tokyo's brand concept is "A beautiful day in a beautiful country," and artist Noritaka Tatehana, whose work places emphasis on the spirit that Japan has cultivated since ancient times, brought this collaboration to fruition. The theme of the collaboration menu is "MOONRISE," the name of the moon that falls on the 19th day of the lunar calendar, which evokes the idea of lying down and waiting for the moon to rise on a long, quiet autumn night.
The Palace Lounge, the lobby lounge, will offer "Afternoon Tea ~MOONRISE~" (4,800 yen), a three-tiered tier of sweets and savory dishes inspired by the fleeting beauty of the moon rising in the night sky. The second-tiered "Light Box" features richly colored sweets covered in pale ink-colored sable cookies, representing the shining light of the moon. The third-tiered "Shadow Box" combines thin dark chocolate with night blue coarse sugar to create the ephemeral silhouette of the moon floating in the ultramarine night sky. The first tier is filled with dishes such as croissant sandwiches and salmon temari sushi.
The Palace Lounge and Royal Bar will also be offering the "Moonrise" cocktail (2,000 yen), inspired by the "Nemachizuki" (a ritual of admiring the moon rising on an autumn night). The rich, gentle flavor of Kyoho grape liqueur is enhanced with Earl Grey liqueur for depth, and the refreshing acidity of the cocktail is achieved by combining lemon juice and ginger beer.
