The 11th Sumida River Market will be held on October 22nd at Ushijima Shrine and Sumida Park in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. The market, the largest in eastern Tokyo, brings together artists, artisans, and popular local restaurants. It has been held since 2011 by a volunteer committee of organizers from within and outside Sumida Ward, along with over 30 supporters. This year's market, the 11th, will be the largest ever, bringing together 106 makers and restaurants. A wide range of events will be held, including special menus from popular restaurants in downtown Sumida, sales of handmade items by artists and artisans, workshops with artists, live music, and a relaxation corner. Items for sale include handmade accessories, woodworking goods, glasswork, and children's clothing. Live music performances will include Takacha, Mewo Corazon, Utairo Trio, Kantaro Uchida, and Achordion. In addition to the popular children's Yuzen dyeing workshop, participants can try their hand at making handmade tin badges, original notebooks, card cases, sweets decorations, portraits, and more. There's also plenty to do, including relaxation experiences like foot reflexology and hand massages.
