The Akasaka Flea Market in ARK HILLS, held every fourth Sunday of the month, will be held on October 23rd at ARK Hills in Akasaka, Tokyo, as a special autumn event: "Akasaka Flea Market in ARK HILLS Autumn Event ~Vintage Clothing, Books, and Records~."
This time, to coincide with autumn, the perfect season for art, fashion, and reading, the market will collaborate on three genres: "Records," "Clothing," and "Used Books." In addition to the first record store to open at the Akasaka Flea Market, approximately 90 stores will be selling a variety of exquisite items, including vintage fashion apparel, antique goods, furniture, and used books, proposing various ways to enjoy autumn.
To celebrate the autumn of "art," the market will offer a selection of highly artistic vinyl records, chosen in line with vintage styles from vinyl records, which have been gaining popularity in Japan in recent years. BBQ Records, which mainly carries a selection of Rap, R&B, Soul, and Jazz LPs, 12-inch records, and 45s US originals, will be opening its first store at the Akasaka Flea Market, as will konect, a brand of ceramic pots that specialize in handmade products made in Japan.
For the autumn fashion season, a wide variety of items will be available, including workwear, military wear, sportswear, and traditional wear, carefully selected by the owners of 16 popular stores with locations in Koenji, Machida, Mito, and elsewhere. Two stores making their first appearance at the market this year are Jolly Good Clothing, which focuses on British vintage items, and Jacob's Ladder, a specialty store for European vintage clothing. You can find rare items such as vintage clothing and fashion accessories that are now hard to find or out of print.
In autumn, the season for reading, BOOK TRUCK, a mobile bookstore that changes its selection and format depending on the destination, such as parks, train stations, or outdoor events, will appear at the Akasaka Flea Market packed with approximately 500 books, including new releases, used books, and foreign books. Also setting up stalls are Shimokitazawa's secondhand bookstore and general merchandise store "July Books/Shichigatsu Shobou" and "greenpoint books&thing," which sells secondhand books and general merchandise from Japan and abroad. Also scheduled to appear are musical performances by KENKOU, who has been gaining attention for his unique musical expression, and Enomoto Shinsuke, who delivers soothing piano-based music, as well as a food truck serving coffee and other items.
