Fashion designer and activist Vivienne Westwood's diary, "Get a Life," will be released by UK publisher Serpent's Tail on October 13th. Available in hardback and eBook, the book is a compilation of six years' worth of diaries detailing her work on fashion, including the Climate Revolution, and offers the kind of thought-provoking and engaging content you'd expect from the Queen of British Punk. From writing about indigenous peoples working to protect the Amazon rainforest to driving a tank outside the home of the then-British Prime Minister to protesting fracking and enlisting her famous friends in various campaigns and marches, this book offers a vivid and unpredictable look into the life of one of the most influential artists and activists of our time.
Vivienne Westwood said, "This diary is about the things I care about - not just fashion, but art, books, human rights, global warming and freedom. I titled it 'Get a Life' because that's how I feel: we need to get more involved, speak out and take action on these issues."
Mark Ellingham of Serpent's Tail, the publisher, added, "Vivienne Westwood has always been someone who speaks her mind. That's why her diaries are so compelling and compelling. You never know what she'll write or what she'll say about it."
