The second wave of artists for the Oku-Noto Triennale, set at the tip of the Noto Peninsula, has been announced! The festival will be held in September 2017.

The second wave of participating artists has been announced for the inaugural Oku-Noto Triennale 2017, which will take place in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, from September 3 to October 22, 2017. Located at the tip of the Noto Peninsula, Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a farming, mountain, and fishing village surrounded by the Sea of Japan. Oku-Noto Triennale 2017 is an art festival created by artists, local residents, and supporters from outside the region, aiming to create a new and unprecedented art festival. Through a multi-disciplinary network mediated by art, we aim to unearth the hidden potential of the land and create cutting-edge culture from the very edge. Eight new participating artists have been announced, including Algerian Adel Abdessemed, South Korean Kim Hong-seok, German Tobias Rehberger, and India-based Lux Media Collective. Four Japanese artists have also been announced to participate: Takahiro Iwasaki, Tatsuo Kawaguchi, Tomoko Konoike, and Hiraki Sawa. The first wave of participants included Katsumi Asaba, EAT & ART TARO, Naoki Ishikawa, Eko Nugroho, Chiharu Shiota, Yasushi Nakase, Kodue Hibino, Takashi Fukazawa, and Liu Zhanghua.
