On February 1st, 2017, HENRI LE ROUX will release a collaborative package with Chiso, a long-established Kyoto Yuzen maker, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the brand's launch and the 10th anniversary of its expansion into Japan (6 pieces for 2,900 yen, 12 pieces for 5,600 yen).
The limited edition box of bonbon chocolates, which pays homage to Japan, is themed around "Voyage au Japon (Journey to Japan)." The lineup includes chocolates inspired by Japanese ingredients, such as "Kyoto," a roasted green tea praline mixed with lemon peel coated in chocolate noir; "Yuzu Menthe," a yuzu ganache with mint; and "Yuzu Basilic," which combines the sourness of yuzu with the bitterness of basil to create a unique basil flavor.
The package design is an original, handwritten design by Chiso's artisans, featuring a traditional float decorated with seasonal flowers on a traditional Japanese carriage, a traditional motif of travel in Japan since ancient times. The sides are decorated with Henri Leroux's brand logo, the Colombage, and a traditional Japanese pattern reminiscent of Brittany.
In addition, Henri Leroux's limited edition crimson ribbon box, a Valentine's Day staple (4 pieces for 1,600 yen, 8 pieces for 3,200 yen, 11 pieces for 4,200 yen), will also be available from January 18th. This box is also based on the theme of "Voyage au Japon (a trip to Japan)" and has a design supervised by Chiso, and is filled with the new "Kyoto" and "Yuzu Mantle" chocolates as well as the classic bonbon chocolates.
