Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store offers free beauty and health counseling services at the "Ikesei Kirei Station" in the cosmetics department on the first floor and the "Body Station" on the eighth floor.
At the Ikesei Kirei Station, beauty advisors conduct comprehensive skin analyses using specialized equipment such as a robot skin analyzer, microscope, and oil content meter. The analysis results reveal skin weaknesses based on measurements such as moisture, oil content, number of visible blemishes, number of pores, and number of wrinkles. Based on the results, the advisor can recommend skincare products from all brands carried in the store that are best suited to your skin type.
Two courses are available: a "Short Counseling" (approximately 20 minutes), in which the analysis results are quickly reviewed using a skin checklist; and a "Thorough Counseling" (approximately 50 minutes), in which the analysis results are quickly reviewed using a skin checklist and a detailed explanation of your skin condition is provided, along with recommendations for skincare tailored to your skin type.
There is also a touch-screen self-counseling corner where you can experience it when you don't have time for a consultation, and a tester corner where you can try out beauty items from various brands selected for each season.
In the sports department on the 8th floor, there is a health support corner called Body Station, supervised by Professor Naito Hisashi of Juntendo University's Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences, where advisors with specialized knowledge, such as health and exercise instructors, will support you in building your body. If you sign up as a member, you can receive counseling based on the results of measurements taken with the InBody body composition analyzer. InBody can measure the amount of water and fat in the body with high accuracy, and you can find out the muscle balance in your arms and legs and where your body fat is concentrated.
There are three courses available: the "Basic Course (approx. 15 minutes)" which only involves measurement and an explanation of the results; the "Exercise Course (approx. 30 minutes)" where a health and exercise instructor will measure you, explain the results, and give you advice on daily exercise and physical activity; and the "Nutrition Course (approx. 45 minutes, Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store only)" where, in addition to measurement and an explanation of the results, you will also receive advice from a registered dietitian and nutritionist about your eating habits.
The Kirei Station and Karada Station services can be received at all Seibu and Sogo stores, and a reservation by phone or online is required for the consultation. What's more, products recommended during the advice can also be ordered on Sogo's shopping site, "e.Department Store."
