Y-3 will release the YOHJI BOOST, a shoe that combines adidas Sports Performance's BOOST foam with the design of Yohji Yamamoto, on May 23rd, with a limited run of 500 pairs worldwide.
The YOHJI BOOST is a model designed for everyday wear. It is based on adidas' Pure Boost sole, providing a snug fit between the foot and foam. The minimalist design features the iconic three stripes on a pure white style. It is made of neoprene covered in micromesh material and nappa leather. The domestic retail price is 25,000 yen. It will be released in Asia, including Japan, from the 23rd, and will be available in other countries from June 12th.
In addition, to commemorate the release, anyone who purchases footwear at Y-3's domestic directly managed stores between the 23rd and June 8th will receive a free non-sale tote bag (limited quantities).
Adidas has jointly developed the new material "Boost Foam" with German chemical manufacturer BASF. The material has a structure that integrates thousands of tiny energy capsules called CELLs, achieving high levels of shock absorption and resilience. It stores energy and returns it to the runner, successfully improving energy efficiency.
