Rinka's latest book "NO.22" will be released, detailing her determination for the final chapter of her modeling career.

Apr 12, 2014

Rinka, a top model with 22 years of modeling experience who has led the Japanese fashion industry, will release her latest book, "NO. 22," on May 28th. She has appeared on the cover of fashion magazines more than 250 times, the most in Japanese history. She has repeatedly taken small "resets" at each milestone in her life. The title "NO. 22" represents a major "reset" of the past 22 years to rediscover herself. It also represents Rinka's determination to enter the final chapter of her modeling career at the turning point of 40. The book's 304 pages are intended as a "special book," neither a photobook nor a stylebook. Focusing on the modeling and fashion aspects of her career, the book features a selection of the most photographs from the more than 10,000 photos she has taken since her modeling debut in 1993. It also includes photos shot in New York and Tokyo. For the New York shoot, rather than using the familiar Japanese staff, the photographer hired foreign staff active on the front lines in New York, including Ellen von Unwerth, who has shot covers for Vogue, among others. The price is 3,241 yen.

To commemorate the release, special "NO. 22" goods such as T-shirts, mugs, and tote bags produced by Rinka will also be on sale. They will be sold in limited quantities at the online shop "Rinka Room."
