Before we knew it, Golden Week was upon us. Some of you may have realized you haven't decided what to do yet, but don't worry. There are plenty of spots and events perfect for the holiday, so we'll introduce them in four installments.
The four-day weekend is just around the corner. Do you find yourself with a surprising amount of free time during Golden Week? For those who want to make the most of it, we'll introduce you to new spots packed with content.
■KiraRina Kichijoji, a must-see for women
KiraRina Keio Kichijoji has opened at Kichijoji Station on the Inokashira Line. The building is filled with features that will tickle any woman's fancy, such as birdcage-themed dressers. Approximately 70% of the stores, including Beams, Journal Standard, House of Rose, and new styles from Cosme Kitchen, are shops that weren't previously found in Kichijoji, a place where anything seems possible. You'll feel like you're about to discover a new Kichijoji.
■Lala Terrace Musashi-Kosugi: Fun for the Whole Family
Lala Terrace has opened in Musashi-Kosugi, a popular spot with excellent access and connected to 13 train lines. It offers a wide range of shops, from men's and women's clothing to children's, including Urban Research Doors and Cohen. The Golden Week sale is also being held, making it even more unmissable.
■Okachimachi Yoshiike Main Store Building: Recommended for International Visitors
UNIQLO and GU have opened in the newly reopened Yoshiike Main Store Building in Okachimachi! With 100 foreigners, or one-third of the store staff, this is a store designed with tourists in mind. There are also T-shirts with names of places from around the world available, which would make great souvenirs to take home. After shopping, you can enjoy sushi and other Japanese cuisine at Yoshiike Shokudo on the 9th floor, where you can see the Skytree.
■LUMINE Yokohama West Exit: Open for a Limited Time
LUMINE is opening for a limited time at Yokohama West Exit, where the Motomachi shopping mall is currently being demolished. It is home to a variety of stylish shops, including Diesel, Planet Blue World, and Jun, a new store that changes its brands every three months (the first brand to do so is Maison Kitsuné). There are apparently many limited-edition items, so be sure to check it out.
■Experience the Edokko spirit at Coredo Muromachi 2&3
COREDO Muromachi 2&3 opened in March. From restaurants serving sake, raw oysters, and motsunabe (offal hotpot), to Makanai Cosmetics, a cosmetics shop using natural Japanese ingredients, Tabio, which sells domestically produced socks, and Iori, an Imabari towel store, the lineup here allows you to experience the best of Japan. With TOHO Cinemas also opening soon, you'll have plenty of fun from day to night.
It's Golden Week, so whether you're a couple, a family, or traveling alone, why not enjoy shopping, gourmet food, and entertainment to your heart's content at these popular spots!
