Mint Designs is holding a "Textile Bazaar" event at the TOKYO Kaihoku (Liberation Zone) on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building, selling original textile designs. The event runs until May 11th. The collection includes textile items with the brand's signature doll pattern, as well as zigzag and continuous image patterns. A highlight is the brand's first doll-pattern fabric panel (a wooden panel with fabric attached). Two sizes of fabric panels are available: small (5,800 yen) and medium (6,800 yen). Also available exclusively for this event is a small (4,500 yen) panel hand-printed on a 41x41cm canvas. According to a buyer at TOKYO Kaihoku, "We've sold clothing and household items for some time, but we didn't have a fabric panel that could be hung on the wall like a painting, and we received many requests from customers."
In addition to these, there will be a wide variety of household items available, including nine types of dresses (priced from 12,000 yen to 29,000 yen), cushion covers (8,500 yen), play mats (2,800 yen), aprons (13,000 yen), and tableware (priced from 2,200 yen to 2,800 yen).
Fabric panels are popular as interior items in Nordic countries. They are said to have been created in these regions, where winters are long throughout the year, so that people could enjoy life indoors even during the snowy season.
