Jan 24, 2013

Francfranc has unveiled its shopping bag for the 2013 spring season. Designs were submitted to the public, and graphic designer Yoshida Noriaki's proposal, depicting the Eiffel Tower and the French flag in lipstick, was selected. Francfranc held its first-ever shopping bag design contest from October 5th to November 4th of last year, aiming to inject fresh ideas into the design. Two categories, "Spring" and "Summer," were created, with the themes of "Paris" and "Southern France." 248 and 105 designs were submitted, respectively. The judges were Takashima Ikuo, CEO of BALS, which operates Francfranc; Morita Yasumichi, president of the design firm GLAMOROUS co., ltd; and Yodogawa Miyoko, editor-in-chief of interior design magazine MAISHA. Takashima commented, "Without creating an overly Parisian feel, the lipstick depiction of the Eiffel Tower and the tricolore, combined with a subtly sweet femininity and color, evokes the light and fashionable Paris that Francfranc is imagining this spring."
