KATHARINE HAMNETT will open the first pop-up shop in Japan for its new collection line, "KATHARINE HAMNETT est.1979," introduced in the 2016-17 Autumn/Winter season, at the OPENING CEREMONY Omotesando store from August 20th to September 9th. KATHARINE HAMNETT est.1979 is a new women's collection line that inherits the designs and concepts that designer Katharine Hamnett has been advocating since the brand's founding in 1979. It combines classic British imagery with avant-garde, fashion, and streetwear, transcending race and culture, to create a contemporary feel. The first season's theme is "Tradition and Minorities," and includes items that elegantly express African culture, such as traditional trench coats accented with traditional African patterns and motifs, as well as Ma-1 jackets and rider jackets made from high-quality leather.
In addition, a unisex T-shirt (16,000 yen) will be released exclusively at the opening ceremony to commemorate this pop-up. It will be available in two colors: white and black.
