Fendi signs nine-year licensing agreement with eyewear manufacturer Safilo. Launching in January next year.

FENDI has signed a licensing agreement with luxury eyewear manufacturer Safilo Group for the design, production, and global sales of sunglasses and optical frames until December 31, 2022.

FENDI's eyewear collection targets high-class women and will be available from January next year at FENDI stores, luxury department stores, and eyewear shops around the world.

FENDI Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari said, "Safilo's know-how, commitment to quality and innovation, and long history and experience in the eyewear industry are a perfect fit for FENDI."

Roberto Vedovotto, CEO of the Safilo Group, commented, "We are proud to expand our portfolio. We will leverage Fendi's exceptional craftsmanship and innovative skills, and mobilize our expertise and capabilities in the regulations and values of luxury products to reinterpret them into a unique eyewear collection."

The Safilo Group is the world's second largest luxury eyewear manufacturer. Based in Padua, Italy, the company has a history of over 75 years. It has 30 subsidiaries in Europe, the United States, and Asia, and operates more than 80,000 sales points in approximately 130 countries. In addition to its own brands, such as Safilo, Carerra and Polaroid, the company also produces under license for a number of luxury brands, including Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Dior, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs and Saint Laurent.
