MaoMao, a brand produced by figure skater Mao Asada, will release a fitness wear collection, "MaoMao by arena," starting next spring/summer.
This collection is a collaboration with the French sportswear brand arena, which primarily sells swimming gear. Based on the concept of "simple fitness and lifestyle wear with attention to detail," the collection features designs that combine the MaoMao brand's commitment with the Arena brand's signature image of water and transparency. Approximately 30 items, including tops, pants, outerwear, and accessories, will be available at Arena shops, department stores, and sports specialty stores from January next year. In-store promotions featuring Asada will also be held.
The MaoMao lineup includes stuffed toys dressed in costumes worn by Asada in competitions, hair accessories and cell phone straps designed by Asada, and sports towels that can be used as banners when watching skating. In addition, in collaboration with specialty stores, they also produce eyeglasses, children's dresses, hakama and furisode for graduation and coming-of-age ceremonies, etc. Asada has announced that she will retire from active competition after the season for the Sochi Olympics to be held next year.
