FENDI, the luxury brand based in Rome, Italy, has released "The Baguette Walk," a three-part short video series created to coincide with the launch of "Baguette 1997." "Baguette 1997" is a new, evolved version of the iconic "Baguette" bag, designed by Silvia Ventrini Fendi, synonymous with the Maison, for the Summer 2021 capsule collection.

The shooting location is Paris. The video stars French actress Ana Girardot and her three fun-loving friends: Spanish stylist Maria Bernad, Chinese model and painter Nini Li-Yun Hu, and model Fatdwa Diawara. They enjoy a girl's day out with the Baguette 1997. True to its name, the video shows the girls strutting the streets of Paris, energetically crossing pedestrian crossings, running single file, fooling around, and dancing, all with the bag tucked under their arm like a loaf of bread. Filled with a cheerful, nostalgic '90s vibe, the video captures the spirit of the bag itself.
The video is set in 1997, the year the Baguette bag was created and released. Inspired by the bag's iconic under-arm carry, the Baguette 1997 perfectly reimagines the legendary quintessential Baguette bag, while playing with the original silhouette—slim slides, adjustable flap handles. The Baguette's iconic strong vintage look and materials, including kitschy, shiny sequins, floral embroidery, and ultra-cool pink lizard, are also revisited. The archive reissues also feature the FF Vertigo pattern from the Summer 2021 capsule collection, created in collaboration with New York-based visual artist Sarah Coleman. Reinterpreting the FF logo, the FF Vertigo distorts the FF logo for a playful, eye-catching, and dizzying effect. The Baguette 1997 will be available from June 2021 at Fendi stores worldwide and on the official online store, fendi.com.
