"Studio Ghibli Symphony Collection" has been released on vinyl in the US, and will go on sale on July 26th on MONDO's official website.
The LP is based on "Czech Philharmonic Plays Studio Ghibli Symphony Collection" by the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, released in 2005, and features music from "Princess Mononoke," "Spirited Away," "Howl's Moving Castle," "The Cat Returns," and "My Neighbors the Yamadas" across two LPs.
The artwork is by Tyler Stout, a popular artist known for his unique movie poster art, and the album will be released with three different jacket designs (each featuring a different theme from "Howl's Moving Castle," "Princess Mononoke," and "Spirited Away") (although the tracklist is the same). The Howl's Moving Castle version will be on purple and pink vinyl, the Princess Mononoke version on red and blue, and the Spirited Away version on yellow and green vinyl.
They are limited edition and each will be priced at $30. The 30cm LP jackets reflect Tyler Stout's vision of the Ghibli world.
MONDO is an art boutique in Texas that sells original movie posters and soundtracks. It is operated by Alamo Drafthouse, a cinema franchise chain known for its unique policy of strictly no talking during screenings and for serving authentic dinner and drinks.
