Air Jordan 30th Anniversary! Michael Jordan visits Japan for the first time in 11 years & special exhibition at Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art

Oct 1, 2015

Michael Jordan will be visiting Japan for the first time in 11 years to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of Nike's classic shoe, the Air Jordan 1. Additionally, "MUSEUM 23 TOKYO," a space where visitors can experience Michael Jordan's glorious career, will open at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo from October 16th to 18th. "MUSEUM 23 TOKYO," which will be open for a limited time at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, will feature a special court called "LAST SHOT," which uses LED screens to recreate Michael Jordan's legendary "last shot" from Game 6 of the 1998 Finals. Anyone can play in a situation that will allow them to relive that legendary moment.

In addition, there will be a "JORDAN HISTORY" exhibit featuring the entire Air Jordan series, from the original "Air Jordan 1" worn by Michael Jordan during his playing days to the latest "Air Jordan 29," as well as a "JUMPMAN PROJECTION" projection featuring photos submitted by Michael Jordan fans. On October 17th, a special event, "ALLDAY U22," will be held for "ALLDAY," Japan's top street basketball competition.
