BLACK BAY CERAMIC
The Black Bay Ceramic is a prime example of Tudor's ability to meet the most stringent standards in the watchmaking industry in terms of timekeeping precision and magnetic resistance. Tested by METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology), this exceptional Black Bay expresses cutting-edge technology through Tudor's distinctive aesthetic. The matte texture of the black ceramic and the black finish of the Manufacture calibre underscore this model's exceptional performance.

TUDOR QUALITY
Symbolizing our relentless pursuit of quality, the Black Bay Ceramic is the first TUDOR watch to pass the Master Chronometer certification test with flying colors. Achieving this certification required significant modifications to TUDOR's manufacture calibre, but it also means that TUDOR will continue to offer models with this independent guarantee of exceptional quality.

COMPREHENSIVE INDEPENDENT CERTIFICATION AND HIGH STANDARDS
The METAS Master Chronometer certification is a comprehensive certification that tests the core functional characteristics of a mechanical watch, including precision, magnetic resistance, water resistance and power reserve. The standards are extremely strict, even when it comes to accuracy. To receive certification, a cased watch must deviate within 5 seconds per day (0, +5 seconds). This is five seconds stricter than the COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Certification) standard of -4 to +6 seconds per day for movements, and one second less than Tudor's own standard of -2 to +4 seconds per day for finished watches equipped with manufacture movements. The certification also guarantees the watch's timekeeping accuracy when exposed to a 15,000 gauss magnetic field. In addition to the accuracy of the manufacturer's declared power reserve, water resistance is also tested in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 22810:2010. Finally, two other prerequisites for Master Chronometer certification are that the watch must be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the "Swiss Made" legislation and be equipped with a COSC-certified movement.

CRITERIA AND TESTS FOR METAS CERTIFICATION
The prerequisites and tests that the Black Bay Ceramic has passed to receive Master Chronometer certification:
· Swiss made
· COSC certified
· Accuracy tests at two different temperatures, in six different positions, and with two different power reserves (100% and 33%)
· Verification of smooth operation and subsequent accuracy tests in a 15,000 gauss magnetic field
· Water resistance to 200 m (660 ft) in accordance with ISO standard 22810:2010
· 70-hour power reserve

HIGH-TECH LOOK
The Black Bay Ceramic's exterior blends contemporary details evocative of cutting-edge technology with understated nods to Tudor's cherished heritage. The monobloc black ceramic case features sandblasted surfaces and polished beveled edges, creating striking contrasts and clear lines. The rotating bezel's insert is crafted from sun-satin-finished black ceramic. Tonal graduations complement the matte finish and subtly react to changes in ambient light. The only distinctive feature of the black-on-black dial are the applied hour markers, which are finished with off-white luminescent material. A black hybrid strap with a leather and rubber lining, featuring a snowflake motif on the inside, completes this dark model, complete with a folding clasp. (Also included is a black fabric strap with cream lines.)

THE MANUFACTURE CALIBRE MT5602-1U
The Manufacture Calibre MT5602-1U inside the Black Bay Ceramic displays hours, minutes and seconds and, like all TUDOR manufacture calibres, is finished with distinctive features. The only difference is that the entire calibre is black, in keeping with the watch's exceptional performance. The monobloc tungsten rotor is openworked and sandblasted with a satin-brushed finish. The bridges and mainplate are sandblasted and polished, with laser-etched decoration.
Robust, durable, reliable, and precise, this movement features a variable-inertia balance supported by a traversing bridge fixed at two points. It also features an anti-magnetic silicon balance spring, and the MT5602-1U achieves the high standard of within 5 seconds per day (0, +5 seconds) when assembled.
Another notable feature is the METAS-certified 70-hour power reserve, meaning you can take your watch off on Friday night and put it back on Monday morning without having to rewind it.

THE ESSENCE OF BLACK BAY
Like other Black Bay models, the Black Bay Ceramic features the "snowflake" hour hand design seen in models introduced in the 1969 catalog. It's these blends of tradition and modern mechanical watchmaking that make the Black Bay a truly unique watch. It's more than just a reissue of a model from the past. This watch embodies the 70-year history of Tudor diver's watches and brings them back to life in the modern era. Its neo-vintage concept is enhanced with manufacturing techniques, reliability, robustness and precision, making it a truly practical watch for today's wearables.
