New York-based luxury brand Proenza Schouler will open its first exhibition-style pop-up shop in Japan from October 14th to 20th at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
The pop-up shop is being held to commemorate the launch of the brand's first customized bag collection, "PS Pin Bag," which will be released in Japan on October 14th ahead of the rest of the world. The collection features the brand's best-selling classic bag in perforated leather. Customers can create a one-of-a-kind bag by decorating it with alphabet and number pins designed by artist Alejandro Cardeanas, who also created the brand's signature textiles.
This is the first time Proenza Schouler has held an exhibition-style pop-up store. The venue will feature an exhibition of the Resort 2016 collection, a world premiere screening of an animated movie featuring the colorful colors and bold shape of Alejandro Cardenas' "PS Pin Bag," and an interactive digital work by teamLab.
In addition to the "PS Pin Bag," items on display will include bags from the AW15 collection and popular classic bags. Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are also scheduled to visit the venue at 10:30 a.m. on October 14th.
