PUMA will open a pop-up shop for their new shoe, the "SUEDE CLASSIC" (8,500 yen), at the OPENING CEREMONY Omotesando store from October 9th to 25th, and at the OPENING CEREMONY Nagoya store from October 30th to November 15th.
The "SUEDE CLASSIC" is based on the "PUMA SUEDE," a shoe that created a major cultural movement in the 1990s. The "PUMA SUEDE" was also sold as the "CLYDE" in 1973 as PUMA's first signature model, after being favored by legendary basketball player Walt Clyde Frazier. Later, the name was changed to "SUEDE," and over the past 40 years, numerous versions have been released, including mid-cut variations and color-updated models. The newly released "SUEDE CLASSIC" goes back to its roots, faithfully recreating the details of that time. It also uses the fine last that was used up until the early 2000s, and the upper shape gives a sleeker impression compared to the current "SUEDE" model.
