The Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) will open a new communication hub for the Good Design Award, "GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi," in Marunouchi, Tokyo, at the end of October. The space will serve as a forum for connecting design and society, bringing together companies, educational institutions, and various organizations to engage in design-related exchanges. It will host exhibitions, seminars, talk events, workshops, and more, and aim to promote Good Design Award-winning companies and design firms. Furthermore, as Marunouchi is a popular tourist destination despite being a business district, it will also house a showroom for Good Design Award-winning designs and provide information on design in Tokyo and Japan. The space's directors are architect Hiroshi Naito, art director Masaaki Hiromura, and design journalist Keiichiro Fujisaki. Once the space opens, the plan is to hold an exhibition showcasing the winning designs of the 2015 Good Design Award through spring 2016.
