The TAG Heuer Carrera collection pays homage to the brand's illustrious motor racing heritage with timeless, sporty and elegant chronographs. Since their launch over 60 years ago under the visionary Jack Heuer, these timepieces have grown into instantly recognizable icons, with their clean lines and perfect proportions. Now, this masterfully reimagined model is a worthy successor to the original model created in 1963.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Green Special Edition shares many similarities with the Heuer Carrera (ref. 2447). The signature lugs, stylish case, polished pushers and dial all blend seamlessly with its illustrious predecessor, while the details and larger case diameter (39 mm, up from 36 mm) add a contemporary touch to this latest model.
The dial features a refined and understated tri-compax design with three subdials: a chronograph minute counter at 3 o'clock, a seconds indicator at 6 o'clock, and a chronograph hour counter at 9 o'clock. The hour and minute hands are faceted and coated with Super-LumiNova® for optimal legibility. The retro-style domed sapphire crystal is also inspired by the original Heuer Carrera, and the dial features the iconic Heuer logo and Carrera name.
A new feature of this watch is the teal color of the dial, which has a beautiful sunray finish. This delicate hue of blue and green is rarely used in the TAG Heuer collection, bringing a new creative sensibility and sophisticated boldness to the timepiece. The teal color is also used on the movement's column wheel, as well as the "Calibre Heuer 02" and "Swiss Made" inscriptions on the automatic rotor, which can be seen through the see-through case back.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Green Special Edition is equipped with the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 movement. This state-of-the-art automatic chronograph movement is manufactured exclusively in the TAG Heuer factory in Chevenez, Switzerland. Its 168 components, including a column wheel and vertical clutch, ensure exceptional chronometer performance. It boasts a power reserve of approximately 80 hours.
It features a black alligator leather strap with a folding clasp with double safety push-buttons. The "SPECIAL EDITION" engraving on the caseback marks this limited edition of 500 pieces.
