A launch event for the Japanese version of the visual book "ROOKIE YEARBOOK ONE" will be held on November 7th at the B&B bookstore in Setagaya, Tokyo. The book is a compilation of articles published between September 2011 and May 2012 in the online magazine "ROOKIE," edited by Tavi Gevinson, who gained attention as a fashion blogger at just 11 years old. The book has also been re-edited by Tavi Gevinson herself. Contributors include performance artist Miranda July, actor Jack Black, actress Lena Dunham, as well as singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira and actress Zooey Deschanel, and many more. A talk event will also be held to celebrate the long-awaited release of the Japanese version. The speakers will be Madoka Yamazaki, who wrote the preface for the Japanese version, and Sumire Taya, who translated and supervised the book. They will talk extensively about the appeal of the book and Tavi Gevinson.
