HAKUI, a work uniform brand designed by Akiyoshi Onozuka, founder of ZUCCa, is releasing its latest 2015 collection, "HAKUI 24," on its official online shop (http://www.hakui-shop.com/) and in participating stores nationwide. After retiring from mainstream fashion, including Paris Collection, in 2011, Akiyoshi Onozuka has since launched his personal brand, "HAKUI," within Seven Uniforms, developing fashion-forward work uniforms. The concept for this collection is Portland, USA, a city that has attracted global attention as a center of a slow lifestyle that values the warmth of handmade items and enjoys living in harmony with its surroundings. In addition to classic fabrics like simple and durable broadcloth and chambray, the collection features items made with textiles that add a twist to classics, such as an expanded ombré check and a pale blue and pink gingham check. Shirts that at first glance appear to be standard collars also feature a twist. The button-down collar has hidden buttons so that it gives a neat impression even when the collar is open.
Aprons are available in a variety of lengths, including a long apron-style apron, a bib-style apron with many pockets, a classic mid-length, and a short work-style apron. Other items available include a work coat made from durable double-weave twill, and blousons and pullovers made from fleece fabric, suitable for a wide range of uses, both indoors and outdoors, with or without a hood.
In addition, the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art's "On Sundays" shop in Aoyama, Tokyo, is hosting an event called "HAKUI in On Sundays," where selected items from the brand are on display and for sale, until July 26th.
