On August 11th, Kihachi Aoyama will hold its annual summer event, "Fun to Share! ~CHEF'S SUMMER PARTY 2015~," in conjunction with the Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival. Each month, Kihachi Aoyama hosts "Fun to Share!", a theme-driven event-style offering of slightly different cuisine. The August event, themed "What a Chef Really Thinks About Summer Festivals...," will feature Kihachi-style food stall menus featuring festival-themed dishes like fried potatoes, yakisoba, and grilled squid. The lineup includes several types of skewers, including "Kihachi's Isobe-age-style Corn Dog," inspired by a corn dog, and "Smoked Duck and Leek Skewers" inspired by negima (steamed onions). Stall-like food stalls will be set up in various locations on the floor, selling dishes like the chef's original "Shrimp and Avocado Sushi Roll," which will be rolled up right before your eyes. In addition to the food, festival-themed activities such as lobster fishing and target practice are also available. Guests who arrive in a yukata kimono will receive a free drink. The price is 4,500 yen per person, and includes nine tickets that can be used for food, drinks, and the fun corner.
In addition, the Yokohama Queen's East store will be holding an event to coincide with the Kanagawa Shimbun Fireworks Festival on August 4th, where guests can enjoy the chef's special "Summer Festival Plate" (3,000 yen). The "Summer Festival Plate" features an assortment of five Kihachi-style summer festival dishes, including "Octopus and Fresh Seaweed Deep Fried Bread," inspired by takoyaki, and "Oriental-style Deep Fried Chicken," inspired by fried chicken.
