On July 10th, Reebok will open its first directly managed Reebok Classic store, the Reebok Classic Store Harajuku (ME Building, 6-14-7 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), on Cat Street in Harajuku, Tokyo. Here's a report on the press preview held on the 9th ahead of the opening.
The store is divided into two floors. Centered around the two core keywords of Reebok Classic -- "80s fitness" and "90s sports" -- the store will stock approximately 1,000 items, including retro shoes and authentic apparel.
The first floor will feature a lineup including the Instapump Fury, Reebok's signature shoe, as well as a retro model of the Ventilator, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The second floor will feature apparel items, primarily from the one-season "TYO COLLECTION," which debuted this year, as well as displays of Reebok's most iconic models and posters. Going forward, the store plans to regularly host events and exhibitions related to art, music, and entertainment. Limited-edition items will also be available to celebrate the opening. The "Ventilator Salmon Skin" (¥30,000), featuring a natural salmon skin upper, is available in black and purple, with only 15 pairs of each. Also available is the "Starcrest TOKYO T-shirt" (¥4,000), featuring the iconic logo and the word "TOKYO." Additionally, from the 10th to the 26th, a Twitter and Instagram campaign will be held to give away one pair of the exclusive "Swarovski Pump Fury," a shoe inspired by Cinderella's glass slipper. The hashtag "#ReebokClassic" will be used. Additionally, the Reebok Classic Camera, developed by TeamLab, will be on display in the store until the end of August, allowing customers to take photos in original frames.
