Blue Bottle Coffee Japan, LLC, has collaborated with HUMAN MADE to promote the opening of Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya Cafe on April 28, 2021. The collaboration will include the development of barista uniforms for the cafe and the release of limited quantities of co-branded items.
HUMAN MADE is a brand designed by NIGO(R), established in 2010, with the theme of "combining the past and the future." The design, inspired by NIGO's own extensive collection, exudes a humorous, mixed sensibility. Nigo began discussing the collaboration with us, having been a regular guest at Blue Bottle Coffee for many years and enjoying Blue Bottle coffee on a daily basis. The Shibuya area, where various values and cultures are merging and expressing their own unique culture, is the location of the "Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya Cafe." Given that the cafe is located in Shibuya, a place where diverse values and cultures are merging and expressing their own unique culture, we both felt it was the most appropriate place to collaborate with HUMAN MADE, whose designs, also have roots in Shibuya street culture, and are based on the concept of "merging the past and the future." To commemorate the Shibuya Cafe's opening, we decided to develop barista uniforms and release co-branded items, including blended coffees. Pre-orders for select items from the double-branded collection will begin at 10:30 AM on April 20th on the Blue Bottle Coffee Official Online Store. Sales will begin at 8:00 AM on April 28th at the Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya Cafe, the Blue Bottle Coffee Official Online Store, and the US Blue Bottle Coffee Online Store. Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya Cafe, opening on April 28th, is the brand's first park cafe in the world. Surrounded by sunshine and greenery, with a refreshing breeze blowing through the store and outside, the cafe offers a unique setting for enjoying specialty coffee. The baristas at this cafe will wear uniforms created in collaboration with HUMAN MADE. The uniforms include T-shirts, caps, and aprons with the Blue Bottle Coffee logo on the front and the HUMAN MADE logo subtly on the sleeves.
