Hermes opens a limited-time women's shoe shop at Shinjuku Isetan. Featuring a wide range of new autumn/winter items, including short boots.

Jul 29, 2015

On July 29th, Hermès opened a limited-time shop showcasing its new 2015-16 Autumn/Winter women's shoe collection on the second floor of the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku store as part of a women's shoe promotion. The shop will be open until August 17th.

The stylishly designed shop, featuring metallic fixtures, offers a wide variety of new shoes, from short boots in beautiful colors that will have you looking forward to autumn, to lightweight pumps, and sneakers perfect for weekend style.

The shoe collection was designed by PIERRE HARDY, and like the debut collection by Nadége Vanhee-Cybulski, the new artistic director of the women's ready-to-wear collection, the designs are linked to Hermès' roots in the "riding spirit." The "Lexi" short boots (5.5cm heel, 137,000 yen) are crafted from classic chèvre velour and feature the house's signature "Chaîne d'Ancre" motif, accented with rose gold hardware zippers. They come in three colors, including "Red Piment" and "Blue Curaçao," key colors also used in Nadège's women's ready-to-wear collections. Retro color blocking, reminiscent of the 1970s, is another striking design this season. The new "Leaping" long boots feature colorful stripes reminiscent of the "rocabaret" style, inspired by riding blankets. The "Lenox" sneakers (274,000 yen), with striking gold studs on the instep, are inspired by the house's "Collier de Chien" (dog collar) bangle. The "Exlibris" emblem on the side reflects the powerful yet elegant Hermès worldview.

The high-top sneaker "Jimmy" (115,000 yen) has been updated with mouton, a new material for fall/winter. Like the "Lenox," it features the emblem, and an "H" design on the rubber sole.

Flat shoes featuring a graphic horse tack motif are displayed alongside a silk set with the same print, evoking a sense of connection with the ready-to-wear collection.

In addition, from August 7th to 24th, the Hermès boutique on the first floor of the main building will host the installation "NUMEROS magiques." The venue will feature new shoes from the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection, such as a horse jumping out of a boot and ballet shoes transformed into plants, creating a magical space that invites visitors into a world of wonder.
