BABY-G 20th Anniversary Limited Shop Appears at Opening Ceremony. Collaboration Watch Released

Jun 2, 2014

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the BABY-G line of Casio's G-SHOCK watches, a limited-time pop-up shop will be open at the OPENING CEREMONY Omotesando branch from June 7th to 29th. The two companies' shared commitment to maintaining a unique style that remains consistent amidst fashion trends and their shared pop sensibilities led to a global partnership after roughly a year of negotiations. The first pop-up shop will sell the 2014 Spring/Summer lineup, and the store will also be selling a collaboration BABY-G (¥13,000) based on the original BABY-G reproduction model BGD-501, featuring original graphics printed on it. Available in three variations—blue and black, yellow and black, and white and black—the watch features the OPENING CEREMONY logo engraved on the case back. The watch will come in original packaging. BABY-G was launched in 1994 as a women's line featuring feminine sizes and designs, while carrying on the G-SHOCK philosophy of "making watches that won't break even if dropped." Based on the concept of "tough and cool," the watches are equipped with shock resistance, water resistance, solar charging, radio wave reception, world time, light functions, and more.
