Beauty World Japan, Japan's largest beauty trade fair, was held at Tokyo Big Sight in Daiba from May 19th to 21st. This marked the 17th year of the event, bringing together exhibitors from 15 countries and regions. It not only connected Japan with the rest of the world, but also served as a platform for business meetings and other encounters between exhibitors from different countries.
The venue was divided into zones for beauty equipment, hair, spa & wellness, and permanent makeup & eyelashes. Cosmedic Eye stood out in the cosmetics zone. The company's cosmetics brand, Cat's FACE, is currently collaborating with Hello Kitty, celebrating its 40th anniversary. Led by DJ Yurina, the brand created makeup items based on a survey of 1,000 women who frequent the Shinkiba club Ageha. The Lip Tint Water (1,200 yen), released in April, is a liquid lipstick designed as part of a "lip makeup series that makes you want to kiss it." The unique waterproof effect ensures natural color even after eating or drinking. Available in three colors: red, pink, and orange, as well as a "Jewelry Gloss" containing gemstone powder. Yurina herself, wearing a cat ear headband, performed a DJ set at the booth. Organic cosmetics were also widely available at the venue. This year, 15 companies exhibited, up from 11 in 2013. Domestic organic products using Japanese ingredients were also on display, including the "Lar" skincare series, which uses domestically grown, pesticide-free loofahs and shell ginger, and the "Canann" skincare line, which utilizes natural ingredients from the Ryukyu Islands. A noteworthy international brand was the candle from German brand Stuwa (price undetermined). After using it as an aroma candle, the wax can be used for oil massage. It maintains a warmth of approximately 40°C, so it can be applied to the skin immediately after melting and extinguishing. Available in three flavors: sandalwood & orange, ylang-ylang, and lavender. Additionally, at the aroma shop "Tree of Life" booth, they exhibited bottles featuring Fujiya's character "Peko-chan." Tree of Life also does OEM work, producing blended oils in collaboration with various companies such as "Afternoon Tea" and "ROPE PICNIC."
