Vogue Japan has chosen Chanel's eyeshadow as the top cosmetic of 2016!

Dec 1, 2016

The fashion magazine Vogue Japan has announced the winners of the 2016 Vogue Beauty Awards (VBA).
The VBA was launched in 2012 by Isetan Shinjuku and Vogue Japan. It is awarded to outstanding cosmetics that represent the year, based on Vogue's unique perspectives on fashion and mode.
This year's awards saw Dior Capture Totale Dreamskin Cushion receive the Breakthrough Award, which recognizes a product that has had an impact on the beauty industry and is so innovative it will still be talked about 10 years from now. The Mode Award, given to a product that perfectly embodies the color, fragrance, or concept that symbolizes the year, was awarded to Chanel Les Quatre Ombres #268.

Other awards include the Visual Award, given to products with a high level of artistic good design, which went to Givenchy Noir Couture from Eye Couture Collection, and the Hall of Fame Award, which recognizes best-selling products that have been loved for more than three years since their release, which went to Sisley Ecological Compound. The Natural Wonder Award, selected from best-selling and cutting-edge/topical products at Beauty Apothecary on the second basement floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku, went to De Mamiel Altitude Oil, while the Readers' Choice Award, given to the product that received the most votes on the VBA special website, went to Three Whisper Gloss for Eye. Furthermore, the Editors' Choice Award, in which the editorial team evaluates major trends in the beauty industry that year from a journalistic perspective, selected three products that highlight the diversification of oil beauty products. The three products selected were "SK-II Facial Treatment Oil," "Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Intensive Cleansing Balm," and "Kikka Flawless Glow Solid Foundation."

The highest award, "Best of Beauty Award," given to the cosmetic that best represents that year from among the top-ranked products in each award category, was awarded to "Chanel Les Quatre Ombres #268," which also won the "Mode Award." These award-winning products are featured in the special supplement "VOGUE BEAUTY AWARD 2016" in the January 2017 issue of "VOGUE JAPAN," which goes on sale on November 28th, as well as on a special website.
