FENDI, the luxury brand renowned in Rome, Italy, is projecting the codes and themes presented in Kim Jones' debut Spring/Summer 2021 Couture collection, sublimating this season's sensibility into ready-to-wear. Incorporating the fluid nuances that blur the boundaries between genders and the ultimate romance that are motifs of this Couture collection, the limited-edition capsule collection was created through an interpretation of key silhouettes. It will be available in limited quantities for two weeks only at select boutiques around the world from April 15, 2021. Inspired by the Bloomsbury Group and Virginia Woolf's seminal, gender-blurring novel, "Orlando," the Spring/Summer 2021 Couture collection explores the liberated British sensibility of the 1920s juxtaposed with the opulence of historic Rome. Traditional codes of masculinity and femininity harmonize in a monochrome world through cady and wool-silk tailoring and crisp cotton shirting, alongside elegantly draped satin dresses and gowns. Ballerina slippers embossed with the beaded "Karligraphy" monogram and knee-high satin boots evolve from couture, while a new jewelry collection features baroque pearls encased in resin and embossed with rhinestones. The limited-edition iconic Baguette and Peekaboo bags are adorned with pearls and feature prints inspired by the Bloomsbury Group's Charleston House in Sussex. They represent the timeless elegance of couture and a contemporary homage to British ingenuity and Italian glamour.
The limited-edition capsule collection will be available in limited quantities at the Fendi Ginza store from April 15, 2021.
