Limited to 35 pieces worldwide. LA-based Jacques-Marie-Mage's eyewear is elevated to the level of a work of art.

Apr 5, 2021
Starting in April 2021, JACQUES MARIE MAGE will release "Last Frontier II," the second installment of its premium "Last Frontier" line. Available exclusively at 50 select stores worldwide and five contracted retailers in Japan, the collection continues the tradition of Native American ornamentation, featuring silver and turquoise, and Chimayo weaving on the frame case. Additionally, this collection will feature frames adorned with beadwork by Native American artists, limited to 35 pieces each worldwide. This ultimate collection turns its back on a materialistic consumer society and embraces the essence of luxury, committed to small-scale, handcrafted production.

The Last Frontier II consists of five models: ARKANSAS / DAKOTA / FARSON / RAWLINS / LARAMIE. Designs inspired by Native American history and culture, such as turquoise-adorned silverwork, brass arrowheads, and traditional Chimayo filigree patterns, are used throughout the collection. These seemingly bold motifs delicately adorn the eyewear frames while maintaining overall harmony and elegance. This work is the result of a fusion of the meticulous designs born from designer Jerome's keen artistic sensibilities and the meticulous craftsmanship of Japanese eyeglass artisans who bring these designs to life in the frames.

As a further attempt, Last Frontier II has produced a collector's model, limited to 35 pieces worldwide, featuring beading on the temples, a traditional Native American craft. Byron, a beading artist from the Pueblo tribe, has created intricate and beautiful designs using beads. This piece fully showcases the artist's craftsmanship and elevates eyewear to the level of a work of art.

Features of the Last Frontier II Collection

1. Eyewear created in collaboration with Japanese artisans
The eyewear is made using the finest materials, including sterling silver, gold, and titanium, based on a custom-made plastic fabric created by designer Jerome himself in collaboration with Japanese artisans. Every step of the process is carried out by skilled artisans, with no time or effort spared, ensuring a comfortable fit and meticulous finishing down to the smallest detail.

2. Inspiration from Native American Culture and History
Both the "ARKANSAS" and "DAKOTA" models, which feature Pueblo beading, include limited collector's editions of only 35 pieces worldwide. Charlotte beads, with their faceted surfaces sourced from Santa Fe, create a beautiful luster, and are hand-crafted by artists into beautiful beadwork and then sewn onto the leather wrapped around the temples.
