Farfetch, a London-based e-commerce site featuring over 400 select shops from around the world, is now exclusively selling a capsule collection by Hussein Bazaza, winner of Style.com/Arabia's "Fashion Prize."
The "Fashion Prize" is a competition hosted by Style.com/Arabia in partnership with Design Dubai & Fashion Council (DDFC) to discover talented young designers in the Arab region. Hussein Bazaza was selected as the winner from among 200 designers from 15 countries in the Arab region.
This capsule collection is a sequel to his SS16 collection, "Mithra." Inspired by Princess Mithra from Persian mythology, the collection depicts the re-blossoming of nature in the world after a nuclear explosion dropped by an ancient Persian king. The collection features bold patterns, shapes, and textures. Hussein Bazaza describes the collection as "dramatic, feminine and edgy."
The Fashion Prize also features the Cadillac Design Challenge, a custom challenge produced by the car company Cadillac. The winning entry, a super feminine dress by Bahraini designer Hind Matar, was recognized as the most innovative and unique piece, exploring layering and asymmetry. Like Hussein Bazaza, Hind Matar's items are available exclusively on Farfetch.
