Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya Cafe to open in Shibuya Ward Chatan Park on April 1st

Mar 23, 2021
Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya Cafe will open within Shibuya Ward's Chatan Park, which is scheduled to open on April 1, 2021, under the designated management of Shibukita Partners, a company represented by Tokyu Corporation, as a hub for revitalizing and revitalizing the Shibuya area, a place where diverse values and cultures converge and express their own unique culture.

Located in a Shibuya neighborhood lined with apparel shops, the Shibuya Cafe is the brand's first park cafe in the world. It features a large coffee counter designed to be the center of Chatan Park's activity, as well as a second-floor lounge space overlooking the park, allowing customers to fully enjoy the park's lush greenery and the events held there. Surrounded by sunshine and greenery, with a refreshing breeze blowing through both inside and outside the cafe, this cafe allows you to enjoy specialty coffee.

This Shibuya cafe can be enjoyed for a variety of occasions throughout the day, such as taking a takeaway coffee and strolling around the Jinnan/Udagawa area, enjoying a leisurely brunch on an outdoor seat with wine and a brunch plate, or enjoying a pale ale and appetizers after work. The spatial design of this Shibuya cafe was handled by Ashizawa Keiji Architects, who also designed the Blue Bottle Coffee Minato Mirai Cafe. Dzek, a company that works with designers to create original building materials and products, collaborated with Amsterdam-based product design studio Formafantasma to develop "ExCinere," a warm tile collection made from volcanic ash from Mount Etna. ExCinere tiles are used extensively on the first-floor counter and second-floor walls, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of playground equipment or part of the park. Additionally, the wide, comfortable, curved chairs by Karimoku Furniture, designed by Keiji Ashizawa Architects for the Shibuya Cafe, were conceived to allow guests to relax and enjoy their coffee in the park. The provision of numerous outdoor benches within the park is intended to create a lively atmosphere.

We look forward to providing a cozy space that will be loved by local residents and visitors alike, where guests can spend their time as they like, depending on the time of day and their needs.

SHIBUYA CAFE MENU
Shibuya Cafe offers a menu tailored to suit any occasion, so you can enjoy it throughout the day. Desserts such as the Shibuya Cafe's original cheesecake, developed with the assistance of Tangentes, the pastry chef dug up by Yuichi Goto and Kazuhiro Nakamura, who also oversaw the popular sweets at the Kiyosumi Shirakawa flagship cafe, once again as advisors, go perfectly with coffee. The tableware used is made of plates and bowls from ONE KILN CERAMICS in Kagoshima. The designer himself dug up and blended local soil, mixing various minerals and ash to create original colors and textures for the tableware, and its bright, gentle colors further enhance the light and airy mood.
