Singer-songwriter Pink (P!NK) was born on September 8, 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Her father influenced her to pursue a love of rock music and her dream of becoming a singer was born. She began composing music at the age of 14, even recording demo tapes in studios. After dropping out of high school, she began frequenting clubs and singing in a rap group that included members of The Roots. A record company discovered her talent and approached her about debuting, but things didn't go smoothly. Her debut finally came in 2000, and she produced an album with big-name producers, including Babyface. Her debut single, "There You Go," reached number 7 on the US charts, and her album, "Can't Take Me Home," became a massive hit, staying on the Billboard album chart for 59 consecutive weeks. The following year, her theme song for the film "Moulin Rouge," "Lady Marmalade," topped the US singles chart for five consecutive weeks and won a Grammy Award.
She continued to produce hits, winning her first solo Grammy Award for her 2003 single "Trouble." Her 2008 single "So What" also reached number one in the US, her first. In June 2011, she gave birth to a daughter with her husband, Carey Hart, and took a hiatus, but returned in September 2012 with the album "The Truth About Love."
Since last year, she has been a spokesperson for the cosmetics brand COVERGIRL, appearing in commercials and events.
