
Actress Anna Karina was born on September 22, 1940, in Copenhagen, Denmark. After working as a model, she moved to Paris, France at the age of 18 to pursue a career as an actress. There, she met fashion designer Coco Chanel and was given the stage name "Anna Karina." Her film debut came in 1960, when she was cast as the heroine in Jean-Luc Godard's film "The Little Soldier." She won the Best Actress award at the Berlin International Film Festival for her role in "A Woman Is a Woman" in 1961. She married Godard in 1961 but divorced in 1967. However, she continued to appear in his films and their relationship remained strong. She has starred in numerous French films and remains active as an actress at the age of 73. Since her divorce from Godard, she has been married and divorced three times, and in 2009, she married for the fourth time. An event called "A WOMAN IS A WOMAN/Anna Karina" will be held at Isetan Shinjuku from October 1st, featuring retro-pop color items with a nod to the 1960s, expressing her lively and innocent personality.
