Pièce Danarshive collaborates with art for first installation [14SS Paris Women's]

Sep 27, 2013

Now in its fifth season, PIECE D'ANARCHIVE unveiled its SS14 collection in the form of an installation for the first time during Paris Fashion Week. The venue was the basement exhibition hall of the Palais de Tokyo, a contemporary art museum. The new collection was displayed around a work by French contemporary artist Jean-Pierre Raynaud, consisting of rows of buckets filled with rubble, with large imagery projected in the background. The SS14 collection was presented in monochrome. Based on the themes of "grid," "sports," and "street," the collection included baseball-style tops, jacquard knitwear featuring a three-dimensional grid pattern, large backpacks, and platform sneakers. Designers Débora and Priscilla Royer, sisters, decided to present their collection through an installation because they wanted to "present the relationship between the brand's most important source of inspiration and its clothing, and to communicate our worldview." In Japan, a distributor was decided in 2013 Spring/Summer, and the number of shops stocking the brand is expanding. "As a brand run by just two people, there are many things we want to do, like opening a shop and holding shows, but we want to proceed with business carefully," said Priscilla.

Tiffany Godoy of creative branding studio "Erotica Tokyo Paris," who is in charge of direction for the Omotesando select shop "ICON," which held the brand's pop-up shop last month, also made an appearance at the event.

Regarding the brand's appeal, she said, "Their design balance, mixing class and street style, is perfect for today's times. It also has a very "real" atmosphere. They incorporate French culture and maintain high-quality creations. Their branding sense, including their expression of their worldview and business development, is also excellent."
